Renault to tap indian market
FRANKFURT: Renault SA French car major is taking to compete with Indian motor company TATA motors for their Rs. 1 lakh car. Carlos Ghosn Renault CEO confirmed and said, “We are on the path and try to build cars which could be sell in $3000 to knock Indian market”.
Renault with their join venture partner Nissan is having talks with Bajaj auto to produce this car in India. Nissan also officially confirmed that they are involved in $ 3000 car project. Renault is highest shareholder in Nissan with 49% stake.
Ravi kumar Bajaj auto VC business development confirmed that they are having talks and study for small car project of Renault. With press when asked what if TATAs get advantage by launching their car in the end of 2008. Mr. kumar said “it don’t matter when TATA launch their car for us it is important to launched a smart product.
