Porsche 997 Carrera S PDK: 7.50 to Ring

It was inevitable that this figure came to the press, as it was inevitable that the now eternal challenge distance between the manufacturers is to be consumed between curves of Nurburgring, in a virtual head-to-head. The new Porsche 997 Carrera S my2009, with the new engine with direct injection from 385Cv and the new exchange PDK double clutch and 7 reports, established the time of 7 minutes and 50 seconds sull’anello northern Nurburgring. The time has been obtained with the system PASM active position in Sports and tyres “sports” (probably semi-slick road).
The comparison, very interesting, is with the new Carrera S with manual transmission, which does not go beyond 7.58 and above all with the previous Carrera D 355Cv, stops at 8.02. The PDK is proving so effective in driving on the track, where declares times changed lower by 60% compared to the old Tiptronic.
At this doubt the only doubt comes from the commands of PDK: why keep the awkward buttons on the steering wheel instead of paddles, now used by all the others? Perhaps on future GT3 and GT2 find an answer to this question with something more “focused” for driving sport.
